What is it?
Composition Active substance: Dry extract of marshmallow root – 2.0g; Excipients: Raspberry flavoring, Strawberry flavoring, Sorbic acid or methylparaben, 96% ethyl alcohol, Sugar syrup up to 125g. The plants in the preparation contain a complex of biologically active substances: mucilage (pentosans and hexosans), essential oils, flavonoids, anthocyanins, organic acids (citric, malic, salicylic), pectin substances, vitamins (C, B group), carotene, starch. Pharmacological properties Marshmallow syrup soothes cough, coats the damaged mucous membrane with a thin layer, softens and dissolves dense, inflammatory deposits (throat, larynx, vocal cords), accelerates the regeneration of the damaged mucous membrane, protects the nerve endings of the respiratory tract from irritation, improves appetite, reduces thirst. Indications Acute and chronic respiratory diseases: • Bronchitis; • Pneumonia; • Bronchiectasis; • Tracheitis; • Laryngitis; • Angina; Dosage and administration Orally, before meals. Adults: 15ml syrup 3-4 times a day. Children aged 2 to 3 years: 2.5ml syrup 2-3 times a day; Children aged 3 to 6 years: 5ml syrup 2-3 times a day; Children aged 6 to 12 years: 10ml syrup 2-3 times a day; (May be taken diluted in water). The duration of the treatment course is determined individually by the doctor. Missed dose: If a dose is missed, do not take a double dose. Take the next dose as soon as possible or according to the original schedule. Side effects Allergic reactions. If side effects occur, the patient should stop treatment and consult a doctor. If side effects not listed in the instructions occur, the patient should consult their treating physician or pharmacist. Contraindications Pediatric use: Not for use in children under one year of age. • Diabetes mellitus. • Due to the presence of strawberry flavoring in the syrup, allergic skin rash with severe itching may occur individually. Pregnancy and lactation Use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation is possible as prescribed by a doctor. Special instructions The preparation is not prescribed for children under one year of age. Caution: The preparation should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy and lactation. Effect on ability to drive and use machines: Taking the preparation does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery. Overdose No cases of overdose have been reported. Interactions with other drugs It is not recommended to take the preparation together with cough suppressants and preparations containing codeine. Storage conditions and expiry date Expiry date: 2 years. Use of the preparation is not allowed after the expiry date or if defects are found during visual inspection. Storage conditions: At temperatures of 15-25°C, in a place protected from light.
