What is it?
Amoxi-Denk Tablets 500mg Composition: Active substance: One tablet contains 574 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate, equivalent to 500 mg of amoxicillin. Excipients: Macrogol 6000, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide. Indications: Used for the treatment of acute and chronic bronchial infections caused by pathogens sensitive to amoxicillin. The list of indications includes the following types of infections: Ear, nose, and throat (otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis); Upper and lower respiratory tract (including whooping cough); Kidneys and lower urinary tract; Reproductive organs (including gonorrhea); Biliary tract; Gastrointestinal tract (including during triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection). Skin and soft tissues; Prophylaxis of endocarditis (preventive treatment of inflammatory processes of the endocardium and heart valves); Typhoid fever (including treatment of chronic carriers if fluoroquinolone preparations cannot be used); Osteitis, osteomyelitis Listeriosis (infectious disease). Pregnancy and lactation: Pregnancy: Amoxicillin crosses the placenta. As a precaution, Amoxi-Denk 500 should only be taken during pregnancy after the doctor has assessed the expected risk and benefit of the treatment. Human studies have not revealed any cases of embryonic or fetal damage. Only in one individual case in women with premature aminorrhoea, the following data were obtained: The administration of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid for prophylactic purposes increased the risk of developing certain intestinal inflammations (necrotizing enterocolitis) in newborns. Animal studies have not shown signs of embryonic damage. Lactation: Amoxicillin is excreted in breast milk. A child receiving such milk may develop diarrhea and fungal infections of the mucous membranes, indicating the need to discontinue lactation. The possibility of increased sensitivity should also be considered. However, Amoxi-Denk 500 can be taken during lactation after the treating physician has weighed the potential benefits and risks of taking this medication. Appropriate consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. Dosage and administration: Amoxi-Denk 500 should be taken as prescribed by a doctor. If you have any questions, consult your treating physician or pharmacist. Amoxi-Denk 500 should be swallowed. Amoxi-Denk 500 is taken with food, as this improves its tolerability and does not affect its efficacy. The dose depends on age, weight, kidney function, severity and location of the infection, as well as suspected or confirmed pathogens. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dosage is as follows: The single daily dose should be divided as accurately as possible into the amounts to be taken during the day. If divided into three doses, there should be an 8-hour interval between doses, and if divided into two doses, the interval between doses should be 12 hours. For children weighing up to 40 kg (under 12 years of age), it is usually recommended to divide the daily dose into 3 parts (at 8-hour intervals). If the patient believes that the effect of Amoxi-Denk 500 is too strong or too weak, they should consult a doctor. For adults, adolescents, and children weighing more than 40 kg (over 12 years of age), the daily dose of amoxicillin is 1500-3000 mg, divided into 3-4 doses. It is also possible to divide the total daily dose into 2 doses (at 12-hour intervals), however, in such cases, a higher daily dose may be required to maintain the appropriate therapeutic level. In case of severe infection, the daily dose of amoxicillin can be increased to 4000-6000 mg. For children weighing up to 40 kg (under 12 years of age): 50-100 mg of amoxicillin per 1 kg of body weight is prescribed, divided into 3-4 doses, with a maximum daily dose of 2000 mg. For children under 6 years of age, a more convenient pharmaceutical form than tablets should be selected. As a rule, the patient's weight plays an important role in dose selection, although in individual cases it may not correspond to age. Storage conditions: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, protected from light. The expiry date is indicated on the blister and the outer packaging.
