Properties

What is it?

Dosage Form: Tablets. Pharmacological Group: Vitamin preparation. Composition: Ascorbic acid – 100 mg; Excipients: Glucose, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium stearate, talc, povidone, E 104. Pharmacological Action: Vitamin C is characterized by a multifaceted action: it promotes the absorption of carbohydrates and proteins, the absorption of iron from food, and the production of steroid hormones; it participates in blood clotting and metabolic processes, including the synthesis of vitamin B12; it increases the body's resistance to infectious diseases and reduces the permeability of blood vessel walls. By participating in these processes, vitamin C affects inflammatory and allergic reactions and promotes the course of restorative and protective processes in the body, reduces blood cholesterol levels, and helps normalize blood pressure. Indications: Hypo- and avitaminosis, reduced immunore sistance, prophylaxis of upper respiratory tract infections, bleeding gums, decreased appetite, increased physical and mental exertion, fatigue, asthenic conditions, iron-deficiency anemias, tendency to bleeding caused by increased capillary wall permeability, post-illness convalescence period. Contraindications: Allergic reactions to the components of the preparation. Dosage and Administration: Take orally after meals. Adults: 100 mg to 600 mg per day (1 to 6 tablets per day); Children aged 1 to 6 years: 100 mg (1 tablet per day); Children over 6 years: 100 mg to 300 mg (1 to 3 tablets per day). Overdose: High doses of vitamin C can cause anemia, headache, polyuria, convulsions, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea. Due to a significant increase in urine acidity, there is a risk of stone formation in the kidneys and urinary tract (urate, oxalate, and cystine). Treatment is symptomatic. Toxic levels of vitamin C are not reached, as large amounts are excreted with urine. The literature describes a case of taking 15g of vitamin C daily for 4 months without side effects. Pregnancy and Lactation: Vitamin C is recommended during pregnancy and lactation. Effect on Ability to Drive and Operate Machinery: Vitamin C does not affect the ability to drive a car or operate machinery. Side Effects: No side effects are observed when taking the indicated doses. Prolonged intake of high doses of vitamin C (more than 1 g per day) may cause headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin redness, increased urination. Prolonged intake of high doses can create conditions for the formation of kidney stones. Packaging: 20 tablets in a PVC/Alu blister. 2 blisters are placed in a cardboard box. Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, out of reach of children.
