What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol, caffeine Clinical-pharmacological group: Pulmonology → Cold remedies → Preparations for systemic use Composition Active substances: acetylsalicylic acid - 0.2g, paracetamol - 0.2g, caffeine - 0.037g, citric acid - 0.0025g. Excipients: starch, talc, lactose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, calcium stearate; Pharmacological properties Ascofen is a combined preparation whose pharmacological action is due to its constituent components. Acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, resulting in analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. Caffeine stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor centers, dilates blood vessels in the brain, and enhances the effect of acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol. Indications Moderately expressed pain syndrome of various etiologies: • Headache; • Migraine; • Toothache; • Neuralgia; • Myalgia; • Algodysmenorrhea; • Rheumatic diseases and colds accompanied by fever. Dosage and administration 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. Side effects Nausea, heartburn, epigastric pain, bleeding, allergic reactions. Contraindications • Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation; • Peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum in the exacerbation phase; • Gastrointestinal bleeding (including in history); • Hemorrhagic diathesis; • Pregnancy and lactation. Pregnancy and lactation The use of the preparation is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. Special instructions The preparation does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. The preparation is not allowed to be used after the expiration date or if defects are found during visual inspection. Overdose In case of overdose, gastric lavage and intake of activated charcoal are necessary. Caution: It is not recommended to combine the preparation with barbiturates, salicylates, anticonvulsants, rifampicin, alcohol. Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment. Interactions with other drugs Enhances the effect of antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants, increases the risk of side effects against the background of glucocorticosteroids and sulfonylurea drugs. Storage conditions and shelf life Store in a dry place at room temperature. Shelf life: 4 years.
