What Haskofungin, solution for external use is and how to use it The active ingredient of Haskofungin in the form of a solution for external use (Ciclopirox olamine) has antifungal properties, destroying pathogenic fungi and yeast cells that cause diseases of smooth and hairy skin, and also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Pathogenic fungi and yeasts, as well as some bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative) are sensitive to the action of Ciclopirox olamine. Indications For the local treatment of all forms of skin mycosis: • Cutaneous candidiasis (yeast infection, usually developing between the toes, under the breasts, and in skin folds); • Mycosis of the body, feet, groin, and ankles (between one or both toes, sometimes on the soles or sides of the feet); • Pityriasis versicolor (yellowish-brown spots usually found on the skin of the chest). 2. Before you use Haskofungin, solution for external use Read When not to use Haskofungin, solution for external use: • If you are allergic to Ciclopirox olamine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6). Warnings and precautions If signs of hypersensitivity appear, treatment should be discontinued. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use around the eyes. Children and adolescents There is no data on the use of the preparation in children. Haskofungin, solution for external use and other medicines Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. Drug interactions No drug interactions have been reported to date. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Driving and operating machinery The preparation does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery. 3. How to use Haskofungin, solution for external use Always use this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The preparation is intended for external use only. Usually, the medicine is applied to the affected areas of the skin and around them, twice a day (morning and evening). Treatment should be continued until the lesions disappear, usually for 2 to 4 weeks, and for athlete's foot, for one month or longer. If the changes persist, consult a doctor. Remove the cap from the packaging. Then press the button firmly and, directing the stream towards the affected area of the skin, distribute the medicine evenly. When using it for the first time, press the pump button several times to release air and achieve proper spraying. If you use more Haskofungin, solution for external use than you should There is no data on overdose. If you use more than the recommended dose, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately. If you forget to use Haskofungin, solution for external use Use the preparation as soon as possible. Possible side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Irritation, burning, redness, or itching may rarely occur. Reporting of side effects If you experience any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can report side effects directly to the pharmacovigilance department of the Medicines Side Effects Monitoring Department. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information about the safety of this medicine. 5. Storage conditions for Haskofungin, solution for external use Store below 25°C. Store in the original, closed container to protect from light. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date indicated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Medicines should not be disposed of down the drain or in household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment. 6. Package contents and other information What Haskofungin, solution for external use contains • The active substance is Ciclopirox olamine. 1 ml of solution contains 10 mg of Ciclopirox olamine. • Other ingredients (excipients) are isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400, and purified water.
