Climax Herbal Remedy Composition: 1 tablet contains 40mg of Cimicifuga racemosa (also known as Actaea racemosa) dry extract Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Herbal remedy for climacteric symptoms. Pharmacological Properties: Lakfil is a non-hormonal, herbal preparation containing dry extract of Cimicifuga rhizome. A significant active component of Cimicifuga is the bioflavonoid formononetin, which gives it hormone-like properties. Lakfil exhibits complex estrogen-like effects and is used during estrogen deficiency in the pre-, meno-, and postmenopausal periods, as well as after oophorectomy. As shown by in vitro/in vivo studies, the components in Cimicifuga extract primarily act on estrogen receptors and exhibit estrogen-like and dopaminergic properties. Unlike estradiol, Cimicifuga does not affect the endometrium, vaginal epithelium, or other estrogen-sensitive organs. Thus, Cimicifuga extract has selective estrogen receptor activity – it binds to estrogen receptors in the brain, reducing the secretion of luteinizing hormone. The reduction in gonadotropic hormone production helps prevent the psychoemotional and vegetative-vascular disorders characteristic of the pre- and menopausal periods. These disorders are caused by a decrease in estrogen levels and, simultaneously, an increase in luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone. Cimicifuga improves heart function, relaxes smooth muscles, enhances diuresis, has sedative activity, increases the secretion of digestive enzymes, prolongs and improves sleep quality, reduces pain sensitivity and blood sugar levels, and suppresses inflammatory processes. It balances hormonal status and reduces the risk of osteoporosis development.
