What is it?
Composition and Description: Sodium Chloride as a hypertonic agent, Sodium Hyaluronate, Petrolatum, Paraffinum Liquidum, Potassium Phosphate Monobasic, Disodium Phosphate, Lanolin Alcohol, Water, and Hydroxymethylglycine. Action: Edenight is a hypertonic ophthalmic ointment containing 4.5% Sodium Chloride and 0.4% Sodium Hyaluronate in a 5g tube. Edenight helps to temporarily relieve the symptoms of corneal edema. The viscosity of Edenight ensures prolonged adhesion to the ocular surface, providing a moisturizing and protective effect even at night. Field of Use: Ophthalmology Indication: Edenight is a sterile hypertonic ophthalmic ointment used for the temporary relief of symptoms of corneal edema, such as visual disturbances and pain, even at night. Due to its high sodium chloride content, Edenight has a higher osmolarity than tear fluid: this difference is essential for the reabsorption of edematous fluid. The use of Edenight leads to an increase in salt concentration in the tear film and, consequently, to the expulsion of water from the corneal layers to the surface. The sodium hyaluronate contained in Edenight forms a protective shield on the corneal surface, providing protection and hydration. Sodium hyaluronate also makes the use of the hypertonic ointment more comfortable thanks to its lubricating and mechanical protective properties. How to Use Edenight: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before using the product; When opening Edenight, do not use the first portion of the ointment, which may be watery, until the ointment comes out of the tube; Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a pocket. Hold the tube vertically above your eye. Gently squeeze the tube to place a small amount of Edenight in the eye to be treated. Apply a small amount of ointment, preferably before going to sleep. If an additional daytime dose is needed, apply a small amount of ointment every three to four hours or as directed by your doctor. Make sure the tip of the tube does not touch your eyes or fingers. Close the cap tightly after use. Warnings: - Do not use Edenight in case of known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the components. - In case of eye irritation, discontinue the use of Edenight and consult your doctor for advice. - After use, you may experience a foreign body sensation that disappears with blinking. - Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged. - Do not use the product after the expiry date. - Use within 8 weeks of first opening. - Store away from direct heat, in a cool, dry place at a temperature between 9°C and 25°C. - Do not swallow. - Keep out of reach of children. - The viscosity of Edenight may cause temporary blurred vision. Before driving or operating machinery, ensure that your vision is clear again. - Remove contact lenses before applying the ointment, otherwise the surface of the contact lenses may be damaged. - If you are using other eye drops or ointments, wait fifteen minutes between each application. It is recommended to use Edenight last. - If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using Edenight. - Edenight is generally intended for continuous use for no more than seven consecutive days; if symptoms persist, consult your doctor. - Do not use Edenight in case of eye injury. Storage Conditions Store at a temperature between 9°C and 25°C, in a dry place protected from heat and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
