What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Disulfiramum Pharmacotherapeutic group: Agent for the treatment of alcoholism Indications: Strictly as prescribed by a doctor. Teturam is used as one of the last resorts for the treatment of chronic alcoholism, if therapeutic effect cannot be achieved by other methods of therapy (psychotherapy, vitamin therapy, laser-magnetic therapy). Method of administration and dosage: Teturam is taken individually, only under the supervision of a doctor, 1-2 tablets per day. Treatment is carried out according to the regimen proposed by the doctor. Side effects: During treatment with Teturam, various disorders of the heart, digestive system, and liver functions may develop, which can cause exacerbation of chronic diseases, acute psychoses resembling alcohol poisoning. Allergic reactions (itching, rash) are possible. In case of undesirable effects or other similar reactions, it is necessary to stop taking the preparation and consult a doctor regarding the advisability of further use of the preparation. It is not recommended to take the preparation in case of infectious brain damage and stroke, in elderly people over 60 years of age, as well as in those suffering from endarteritis, gastric and duodenal ulcer disease in the stage of exacerbation, traumatic diseases, previously transferred teturam psychoses. Special instructions: Treatment with Teturam is carried out only under the supervision of a doctor. Due to the fact that treatment with the preparation is accompanied by pronounced side effects, it is resorted to only in cases of unavailability and ineffectiveness of other treatment methods. The dose of the preparation is selected individually. Before starting treatment, you are obliged to undergo a medical examination. Alcohol consumption during treatment is not safe and in case of severe poisoning may be accompanied by a pronounced decrease in blood pressure, psychomotor agitation, convulsions, clouding of consciousness, severe throbbing headache with a feeling of constriction and difficulty breathing.
