What is it?
CITOPRAM 10mg film-coated tablets Escitalopram Before taking the medicine, read the instructions carefully as it contains important information for the patient. Keep the instructions as you may need to read them again during treatment. If you have any additional questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine is prescribed for you and should not be given to others, even if their symptoms are similar, as it may be harmful to them. If any side effects occur, or if you notice any side effects not listed in these instructions, consult your doctor. Composition: The active substance is escitalopram. Each film-coated tablet contains 10mg of escitalopram (as oxalate). Other ingredients are: Core: microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silica, croscarmellose sodium, talc, magnesium stearate, Coating: hypromellose 6cP, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 6000. Indications: Depression (major depressive episodes); Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia (e.g., fear of going out, fear of being in crowds and public places); Social anxiety disorder (social phobia); Generalized anxiety disorder; Obsessive-compulsive disorder. Contraindications: If you are allergic to escitalopram or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you are taking medicines from the group of monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, including selegiline (used to treat Parkinson's disease), moclobemide (used to treat depression), and linezolid (an antibiotic); If you have a congenital heart rhythm disorder, or if you have developed a heart rhythm disorder (which is visible on an ECG examination that shows the functioning of your heart). If you are taking medicines to treat heart rhythm disorders, or preparations that may affect heart rhythm. Warnings and precautions: If you have any health problems or diseases, inform your doctor or pharmacist before taking CITOPRAM, as they may need to be taken into account during treatment. If you have epilepsy. Treatment with CITOPRAM should be discontinued if seizures occur or become more frequent. If you suffer from liver or kidney dysfunction. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose. If you have diabetes. Treatment with CITOPRAM may disrupt blood glucose levels. The dose of insulin and/or oral hypoglycemic agents may need to be adjusted. If you have low sodium levels in your blood; If you have low potassium and magnesium levels in your blood (hypokalemia - hypomagnesemia). If you are prone to bleeding or bruising easily. If you are undergoing electroconvulsive therapy; If you have or have had heart problems in the past, or have recently had a heart attack (myocardial infarction); If you have a low pulse and/or know you have salt deficiency due to prolonged diarrhea or vomiting (nausea), or due to taking diuretics (water pills). If you notice a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, collapse, or a seizure immediately upon standing up, it may indicate irregular heart rhythm function; If you have coronary heart disease; If you have or currently have glaucoma in your medical history. It should be noted that some patients with manic-depressive disorder may switch to a manic phase. This is characterized by unusual and rapid changes in thoughts, an unfounded feeling of joy, and excessive physical activity. If these symptoms appear, consult your doctor. In the first weeks of treatment, signs such as restlessness or inability to sit or stand still may appear. If these symptoms appear, consult your doctor.
