International Nonproprietary Name - allium+tamarindus+punica+anethum+cucurbiIndications: Helmentin contains: Garlic (Allium sativum), Indian Tamarind (Tamarindus indica), Pomegranate (Punica granatum), Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo). Helmentin is used for the treatment and prevention of helminthiasis. It acts as a helmintocide, destroying the parasite at all stages of development (egg, larva, adult form) and eliminates gastrointestinal tract dysfunction caused by helminthic invasion. The effect of garlic on helminths has been known since ancient times; garlic is rich in various substances it contains (phytoncides, allicin, selenium); it acts as an antibiotic and antioxidant, strengthens the immune system. Garlic fights diseases caused by bacteria such as (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Proteus, Pseudomonas, Mycobacterium) especially strains associated with diarrhea (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Clostridium, Klebsiella, Bacillus subtilis), very rarely - "friendly" bacteria such as Lactobacillus, which colonize the intestines. Garlic has antifungal and antilambliotic effects, and also acts on parasites such as Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica. Pumpkin seeds: effective against nematodes (roundworms) - (Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura), as well as tapeworms and lamblia. It enhances the liver's detoxification function, neutralizes toxic substances released by helminths, and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Numerous studies have shown that tamarind extract is highly effective in antihelminthic therapy, it is used to treat dysentery, eliminates inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, has analgesic effects, and neutralizes parasitic exotoxins. Pomegranate extract: acts on various types of helminths and lamblia. Fennel regulates intestinal peristalsis, prevents the development of meteorism; prevents intoxication caused by parasitic invasion, reduces nausea, acts as a sedative and antispasmodic. Garlic, pomegranate, and fennel contribute to the normal functioning of the digestive system, and also, pomegranate and tamarind ensure the normalization of intestinal motor function. Prune juice stimulates intestinal motor activity and leads to the evacuation of helminths from the intestines, prevents constipation. Composition: Water, fructose, concentrated prune juice, dry pumpkin extract standardized to 20% fatty acids (Cucurbita pepo L. var. oleifera Pietsh seeds, maltodextrin, anti-caking agent: silicate); dry fennel extract standardized to 0.9% essential oil (Foeniculum vulgare Mill. fruit, maltodextrin); dehydrated garlic (Allium sativum L. bulb, corn starch, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin); dry tamarind extract, ratio D/E 4:1 (Tamarindus indica L. ripe fruit, maltodextrin); acidity regulator: sodium lactate); dry pomegranate extract standardized to 40% ellagic acid (Punica granatum L. bark and fruit), preservatives: potassium sorbate; thickener: xanthan gum, flavoring, acidity regulator: citric acid. Dosage and Administration: For children aged 3-6 years, 10 ml twice a day, 1 hour before main meals. For children aged 6-12 years, 15 ml twice a day, 1 hour before main meals. For children aged 12 years and adults, 20 ml twice a day, 1 hour before main meals. The duration of treatment is determined individually and depends on the patient's condition and the type of helminth, and lasts from 3 to 7 days. Treatment is preferably repeated after 14 days.
