Ibuvit D3 2000 IU, Soft Capsules Cholecalciferol Before taking the preparation, it is necessary to carefully read the instructions for use, as it contains important information for the patient. This preparation should always be used exactly as described in the instructions for use, or as recommended by a doctor or pharmacist. The instructions should be kept, as it may be necessary to read them again. For additional information or consultation, consult the treating doctor or pharmacist who advised the patient to take this preparation. In case of any side effects, including any possible side effects not listed in these instructions for use, it is imperative to inform the treating doctor or pharmacist. If the condition does not improve or worsens, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Composition: The active substance is cholecalciferol. Each capsule contains 50 mcg of cholecalciferol, which is equivalent to 2000 IU of Vitamin D. Excipients: Capsule content: Purified rapeseed oil; Capsule shell composition: Gelatin, Glycerin, Purified water, Medium-chain triglycerides of fatty acids. Indication: Vitamin D increases calcium absorption from the intestines and reduces its excretion by the kidneys, which contributes to bone mineralization. Vitamin D deficiency is the cause of rickets (disorder of bone mineralization in children) and osteomalacia (insufficient bone mineralization in adults). The preparation Ibuvit D3 2000 IU is indicated in the following cases: Prevention of conditions caused by Vitamin D deficiency in adults, children, and adolescents over 11 years of age with normal body weight; Treatment of osteoporosis in adults as part of complex therapy; Prevention of Vitamin D deficiency in women planning pregnancy, pregnant women, and lactating women (after consulting a doctor). Vitamin D preparations should be taken prophylactically during months with insufficient sun exposure (October to April). During periods of sufficient sun exposure (May to September), the intake of Vitamin D preparations should be avoided. For example, in Poland, sufficient sun exposure is possible only during the summer months (May to September), with at least 15 minutes of sun exposure between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with exposed shoulders and legs, without the use of sunscreen with UV filters. Vitamin D deficiency is defined as a serum concentration of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25(OH)D) below 20 ng/mL (below 50 nmol/L); the target value for optimal Vitamin D action is 30-50 ng/mL (75-125 nmol/L). Vitamin D deficiency may be observed in cases where the patient lives at high geographical latitudes (above 35 degrees), when the diet or lifestyle does not allow for sufficient provision of Vitamin D to the body (individuals who spend most of their time indoors or work at night), or when the body's demand for Vitamin D increases (pregnant women, patients with overweight or obesity). Contraindication: If the patient is hypersensitive to cholecalciferol or any of the excipients in this preparation; if the patient has an increased concentration of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalciuria); if the patient has severe renal insufficiency, kidney stones (urolithiasis) or a tendency to form them; if the patient has Vitamin D hypervitaminosis (symptoms caused by excess Vitamin D in the body); in children under 11 years of age.
