What is it?
Composition: 1ml solution contains: Active substance: Caffeine-sodium benzoate; Excipients: Sodium hydroxide, Water for injection. Indications: Infectious and other diseases accompanied by depression of the central nervous and cardiovascular systems; respiratory depression, asphyxia; restoration of lung ventilation after anesthesia (as an adjunct) poisoning with narcotic and other substances causing CNS depression. Asthenic syndrome; spasm of cerebral blood vessels. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to xanthine derivatives and other components of the preparation; increased excitability; insomnia; marked increase in blood pressure; atherosclerosis; organic diseases of the cardiovascular system, including acute myocardial infarction; paroxysmal tachycardia; arterial hypertension; glaucoma; age over 60 years. Dosage and Administration: In adults, the preparation is administered subcutaneously, 200mg 1ml; maximum single dose - 400mg; maximum daily dose - 1g. In children, the preparation is administered 25-75mg 2-3 times a day. Do not administer before bedtime. Do not administer intramuscularly. Incompatibility: Caffeine-sodium benzoate is an adenosine antagonist. Special Instructions: The effect on the CNS depends on the type of nervous system and can manifest as both excitation and inhibition of higher nervous activity. Since the effect of caffeine on blood pressure is due to vascular and cardiac components, both cardiac stimulation and weak depression of its action may develop. Use with caution in patients with a history of gastric and duodenal ulcer disease. In newborns and young children with apnea in the postoperative period (prophylaxis), caffeine or caffeine citrate is used, but not caffeine-sodium benzoate. Pregnancy and Lactation: The preparation is not used. Effect on ability to drive and operate machinery: During treatment, caution is required when driving motor vehicles and operating other machinery, and in case of development of CNS side effects, refrain from potentially dangerous activities that require concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions. Description: Clear, colorless liquid. Dosage Form: Solution for injection in 1ml ampoules, #10 in a package. Storage Conditions: Store in a place protected from light, inaccessible to children, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Shelf Life: 5 years.
