What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - lactobacillus rhamnosus, lactobacillus acidophilus Clinical-pharmacological group: Gastroenterology, Hepatology → Intestinal microflora balance regulators Composition 1 capsule of Lacidophil®-WM contains 2 billion live lyophilized bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus Rosell-11 – 1.9 billion. Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell-52 – 0.1 billion. Excipients: maltodextrin, magnesium stearate, ascorbic acid. Pharmacotherapeutic group Anti-diarrheal preparations of biological origin that regulate intestinal microflora. Preparations containing lactic acid-producing microorganisms. Indications for use _ Prevention and treatment of intestinal microflora disorders – dysbacteriosis; _ Digestive disorders (dyspepsia): diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, nausea, belching, flatulence, abdominal pain (including related to changes in diet, travel, and others); _ Dysbacteriosis in children and adults associated with antibiotic and chemotherapy use; _ Gastroenteritis, colitis, enterocolitis (acute and chronic); _ Lactose intolerance (to increase tolerance to milk lactose); _ Atopic dermatitis and other allergic manifestations; _ Chronic fatigue syndrome (to increase the body's general resistance). Prevention of Clostridium difficile infection. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Side effects No side effects have been identified. Dosage and administration Lacidophil®-WM should be taken during meals, followed by a small amount of water. For children under 3 years of age and those who cannot swallow the whole capsule, the capsule can be opened and its contents diluted in a liquid (water, tea, juice) or in pre-cooled food. For prevention to maintain normal intestinal microflora: For children aged 6 months to 3 years – 1 capsule every other day, for children from 3 years old – 1 capsule once a day, for adults – 1-2 capsules per day. The duration of treatment is 20 days. For prevention and treatment of dysbacteriosis associated with antibiotic use (including caused by Clostridium difficile): Lacidophil®-WM should be taken two hours before or two hours after taking antibiotics. For children aged 6-12 months – 1 capsule per day, for children aged 1-3 years – 1 capsule 2 times a day, for children aged 3-12 years – 1 capsule 2-3 times a day, for children over 12 years of age and adults – 1-2 capsules 3 times a day. The duration of use is determined by the duration of antibiotic prescription. For the treatment of antibiotic-associated diarrhea – until the symptoms of the disease disappear. Then, prophylactic use may be continued. For the treatment of digestive disorders (dyspepsia): For children aged 6-12 months – 1 capsule once a day, for children aged 1-3 years – 1 capsule 2 times a day, for children over 3 years of age – 1 capsule 3 times a day until symptoms disappear, for adults 1-2 capsules 3 times a day until symptoms disappear. Then, a maintenance dose should be taken. Interaction with other drugs No undesirable interactions have been noted. Use during pregnancy and lactation Lacidophil®-WM reduces the number of conditionally pathogenic flora, especially fungi of the genus Candida, by 3 times, preventing the colonization of amniotic fluid and the newborn's gut with this flora. During pregnancy, Lacidophil®-WM is prescribed 5-6 days before planned cesarean section.
