What is it?
Lidocaine Deces Composition Each vial contains: Lidocaine Hydrochloride BP ... 1% w/v Water for Injection BP ... q.s Indications: Local anesthesia by superficial infiltration, regional (minor and major nerve block), epidural and caudal routes of administration, dental anesthesia, alone or with adrenaline. Dosage and Administration Dosage: The dose should be adjusted according to the patient's response and the site of administration. The lowest concentration and smallest dose that produces the desired effect should be used. The maximum dose for healthy adults should not exceed 200 mg. The volume of solution used affects the extent of the area of anesthesia. If a larger volume at a lower concentration is advisable, the standard solution should be diluted with saline solution (NaCl 0.9%). Dilution should be done prior to administration. Adults and Adolescents (12-18 years): The single dose of lidocaine (except for spinal anesthesia) should not exceed 4.5 mg/kg (maximum 200 mg) in adults or adolescents. For spinal anesthesia, up to 100 mg of the preparation may be used. For continuous epidural or caudal anesthesia, the maximum dose should not be repeated at intervals of less than 1.5 hours. Paracervical block for obstetric analgesia (including abortion) - the maximum recommended dose (200 mg) should not be repeated at intervals of less than 1.5 hours. For IV regional anesthesia in adults using a 5 mg/mL solution, the dose administered should not exceed 4 mg/kg. A 10 mg/mL solution of Lidocaine Hydrochloride (without preservative) is used for epidural or caudal anesthesia. To avoid intravascular or subarachnoid injection of a large epidural dose of lidocaine, a test dose of 2-5 mL should be administered at least 5 minutes before the total dose is given. Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and dark place. Store in a place protected from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
