What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - meloxicam Clinical-pharmacological group: Anti-inflammatory drugs → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for systemic use → Oxicams Composition 1 tablet contains 7.5 mg meloxicam 1 tablet contains 15 mg meloxicam Indications For the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis. Dosage and Administration Rheumatoid arthritis: 15 mg daily. With significant therapeutic effect, the dose can be reduced to 7.5 mg daily. Osteoarthritis – 7.5 mg daily. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 15 mg daily. Ankylosing spondylitis - 15 mg daily. In patients with severe renal insufficiency undergoing hemodialysis, the daily dose of the drug should not exceed 7.5 mg. Its maximum recommended daily dose is 15 mg. Since the dosage in children has not been established, it is prescribed only for adults. Tablets are taken during meals with water or other liquids. The daily dose of the drug should not exceed 15 mg. Side Effects Gastrointestinal tract: More than 1% of patients experience: dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, diarrhea; 0.1-1% of patients experience transient changes in liver function parameters (e.g., increased transaminases or bilirubin), belching, esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, occult and visible gastrointestinal bleeding; less than 1% of patients - gastric ulcer and intestinal perforation, colitis; Blood picture: More than 1% of patients - anemia; 0.1-1% of patients - changes in peripheral blood count, including leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. Cardiovascular system: More than 1% of patients - edema. 0.1-1% of patients - increased blood pressure, tachycardia, hot flashes. CNS: More than 1% of patients - headache. 0.1-1% of patients - dizziness, tinnitus, drowsiness. Genitourinary system: 0.1-1% of patients - changes in kidney parameters (increased creatinine and/or blood urea levels). Less than 1% of patients - acute renal failure. Allergic reactions: Less than 1% - angioneurotic edema, immediate allergic reactions, including anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions. Visual reactions: conjunctivitis, visual disturbances.
