What is it?
International name - ibuprofen Clinical-pharmacological group: Anti-inflammatory agents → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents for systemic use → Propionic acid derivatives with pronounced analgesic effect Indications Inflammatory-degenerative diseases of joints and spine (including rheumatic and rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis), joint syndrome during exacerbation of gout; psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, radiculitis, traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and musculoskeletal apparatus; neuralgia, myalgia, pain syndrome during infectious-inflammatory diseases of ENT organs and adnexitis; algomenorrhea, headache, toothache; febrile conditions (fever) during infectious-inflammatory diseases. Dosage regimen Individual, depending on the nosological form of the disease and the severity of clinical manifestations. The dose of ibuprofen taken orally or administered rectally (into the rectum) in adults is 200-800 mg, with a frequency of 3-4 times a day; in children, the daily dose is 20-40 mg/kg divided into several doses. Maximum dose for adults: 2-4 g for both methods of administration (oral or rectal). Side effects Gastrointestinal system: nausea, anorexia, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, diarrhea are common; erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract are also expected, rarely - bleeding; prolonged use may lead to liver dysfunction. Central nervous system: headache, dizziness, sleep disturbances, agitation, visual disturbances are common. Hematopoietic system: prolonged use may lead to anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis. Urinary system: prolonged use may lead to kidney dysfunction. Allergic reactions: skin rash, Quincke's edema are common; rarely - aseptic meningitis (mainly in cases of autoimmune diseases); bronchospastic syndrome. Local reactions: with external use, skin hyperemia, burning and tingling sensation are expected. Contraindications * Erosive-ulcerative diseases of the stomach and intestines in the exacerbation phase; * Optic nerve disease - "aspirin triad", blood formation disorders; * Obvious deviations in kidney or liver function; * Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen.
