What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Mirtazapine Composition: One tablet contains: Active substance - Mirtazapine 30mg; Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, Wheat starch, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Colloidal silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate. Opadry beige (Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, Titanium dioxide (E171), Polyethylene glycol, Iron oxide red (E172), Iron oxide yellow (E172), Iron oxide black (E172). The preparation belongs to the class of drugs known as antidepressants. As a rule, the effect appears after 2-4 weeks. Indication: Mirtazapine is used to treat depressive states. If your doctor has prescribed this medication for other purposes, you must follow your doctor's instructions. Contraindication: Mirtazapine should not be taken if the patient has hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age: Mirtazapine is not used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Dosage and administration: The doctor will explain the method of administration and dosage of Adepe to the patient. Adults: The initial daily dose is 15-30 mg. The doctor may increase the dose to achieve the most effective daily dose. For optimal treatment, it is important that the patient takes Mirtazapine every day. Elderly: The dose is the same as for adults. Children and adolescents under 18 years of age: Mirtazapine is not used to treat children and adolescents under 18 years of age. The preparation is taken every day at the same time, preferably once a day, before bedtime. On doctor's advice, the daily dose can be taken in two divided doses: one dose in the morning and the second in the evening. The higher dose is taken in the evening. The tablets should be swallowed whole with water or other liquid, without chewing, as the tablets are bitter. The tablets can be divided into two parts. Changing or stopping treatment should only be done on the doctor's instructions. Overdose: In case of overdose, consult a doctor or the nearest hospital. Missed dose: If the patient takes a single daily dose before bedtime and forgets to take it, the missed dose should not be taken the next morning, as it may cause drowsiness during the day. Treatment should be continued at the usual time at night. If the patient takes two tablets a day (one dose in the morning after breakfast and the second dose in the evening before bedtime) and forgets to take one or both doses, follow the instructions below: If the patient forgets the morning dose, it should be taken with the night dose. If the night dose is forgotten, the missed dose should not be taken the next morning. Treatment should be continued with the usual dose in the morning and at night. If the patient forgets both doses, the missed doses should not be taken. Treatment should be continued with the usual dose in the morning and at night. If the doctor prescribes different doses, follow the doctor's instructions. Possible side effects: Like all medications, Mirtazapine can cause side effects. The most common side effects that occur during Mirtazapine treatment are: drowsiness or fatigue; increased appetite and weight gain; dizziness; headache.
