What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - NAPROXEN Active Substance: NAPROXEN Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug Composition and Dosage Form: 1 tab. NAPROXEN ......... 250 mg 1 tab. NAPROXEN .......... 500 mg Indications: Used to suppress pain in the head and teeth, muscles, joints and spine, as well as pain during the menstrual cycle, and for the relief of migraine pain. It provides a reduction in elevated body temperature and reduces symptoms characteristic of the inflammatory process. Dosage and Administration: Prescribed as 1 tablet every 8-12 hours (max 3 tablets per day) until the desired result is achieved. At the beginning of treatment, the patient may take a double dose at 1-hour intervals. In elderly patients (over 65 years of age), 1 tablet is prescribed every 12 hours until a different dose is determined by the doctor. For children under 12 years of age, the drug is not prescribed without consulting a doctor. The drug is used with a glass of water. Side Effects: Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, feeling of fatigue, sleep disturbances, ringing in the ears, swelling of the lower extremities. These effects are mild. Rare side effects include: Gastrointestinal bleeding, facial edema, urticaria, asthmatic attack or seizure, thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia, hearing loss, impaired liver and kidney function. These events are episodic. Contraindications: * Hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its components. Also, * Peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, ulcerative colitis; * "Aspirin triad"; * Impaired kidney function (creatinine clearance <20 ml/min); * The drug is contraindicated if the patient has a history of gastroduodenal bleeding; The drug is used for pain relief for no more than 10 days, and for reducing body temperature for no more than 3 days. Caution is required before using the drug in the following cases: if a rash appears on the skin or the patient is under medical supervision due to a chronic illness, or if any other analgesic was used for pain relief. In case of new or unexpected symptoms, or their worsening, difficulty swallowing saliva, burning or pain in the stomach, it is necessary to stop taking the drug.
