What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - nimesulide Clinical-pharmacological group: Anti-inflammatory drugs → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs → Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for external use Composition One gram of Nidol Gel contains: Active substance: Nimesulide (micronized) 20 mg. Excipients: Propylene glycol; Triethanolamine; Carbomer; Polyethylene glycol; Methylparaben; Propylparaben; Disodium EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetate), purified water. Indications Nidol Gel is indicated for symptomatic relief of pain associated with tendinitis and acute traumatic sprains. Dosage and Administration Dosage for adults: Apply topically twice daily. The amount of gel to be used depends on the area of the affected surface. The applied homogeneous gel disappears quickly. Dosage for children: Nimesulide is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age. Side Effects Side effects are rarely observed during treatment with Nimesulide Gel. Generally, side effects include mild to moderate local irritation, erythema, rash, scaling, itching, and localized reactions are possible. Mild but temporary skin pallor and spotting may be observed. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to nimesulide, acetylsalicylate, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Nimesulide is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age. Pregnancy and Lactation Nimesulide Gel has not been studied in pregnancy and lactation, therefore its use is not recommended. Special Instructions - If local irritation develops during gel application, discontinue treatment immediately and select appropriate therapeutic treatment by any means. - Do not use on damaged skin, open wounds, dermatitis, or infections. - The preparation is not for oral use. - Nimesulide Gel should not be used after moisturizing creams, sunscreen lotions, or alcohol-containing substances, as spotting may occur. - Patients with various liver pathologies (cirrhosis, hepatitis) and kidney pathologies (renal insufficiency, nephritis) should use Nimesulide Gel with caution, as it may worsen the aforementioned conditions.
