What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Olanzapine Group: Neuroleptic agent Subgroup: Benzodiazepine derivatives Nervous system - Psycholeptic agents, antipsychotic preparations, diazepine, thiazepine, and oxazepine derivatives Indications: For the management of acute exacerbations and long-term maintenance treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, manifesting with productive (delusions, hallucinations, automatism) and/or negative (reduced emotional and social activity, poverty of speech) symptomatology. Also, for affective disorders caused by various mental illnesses; for the treatment of bipolar affective disorders, during acute manic and mixed-type episodes, with or without psychotic manifestations and rapid cycling of phases. Dosage: Schizophrenia and similar psychotic disorders: Recommended dose: 10mg once daily. Daily therapeutic dose ranges from 5-20 mg. Bipolar disorders: Recommended starting dose is 15 mg once daily. Daily therapeutic dose ranges from 5-20 mg. Daily dose selection is made individually based on the patient's clinical condition. Dose increase should be gradual at 24-hour intervals. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. * The effect of Olanzapine has not been studied in patients under 18 years of age. * Pregnancy and lactation: The safety of Olanzapine during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied. During pregnancy, the necessity of using the preparation for the mother must outweigh the potential risk of its effect on the fetus; and during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued when using Olanzapine. Storage conditions: The preparation should be stored at a temperature of 10-250C, in a dry place protected from light, inaccessible to children. Shelf life: 2 years.
