What is it?

Balzam "Golden Star", Powder for Flu and Cold Composition: 1 sachet as active ingredients contains: Paracetamol 325 mg, Pheniramine maleate 20 mg, Phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg, Ascorbic acid 50 mg; Excipients: Povidone, Mannitol, Tricalcium phosphate, Sucrose, Citric acid, Sodium citrate, Aspartame, Raspberry flavor. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Remedy for eliminating symptoms of acute respiratory diseases and colds. Non-narcotic analgesic + Alpha-adrenomimetic + H1 receptor blocker + Vitamin. Indications: Acute viral respiratory infection, flu, accompanied by: high temperature, severe chills, body aches, headache and muscle pain, runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing. Dosage and administration: For oral administration. The contents of one sachet are dissolved in 1 glass of boiled water. Taken hot. Sugar can be added to taste. A repeat dose can be taken every 4 hours, no more than 3 doses in 24 hours. Taken at any time of the day, however, for best effect, it is advisable to take the preparation before sleep. If symptoms do not improve within 3 days of starting the preparation, consult a doctor. Side effects: Allergic reactions - rash, itching, urticaria, angioneurotic edema; increased excitability, decreased psychomotor reaction speed, feeling of fatigue, dry mouth, urinary retention, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, palpitations, increased blood pressure, dizziness, sleep disturbances, mydriasis, accommodative spasm, increased intraocular pressure. Blood system disorders, such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis; prolonged use of high doses may cause hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects, hemolytic anemia, methemoglobinemia, pancytopenia. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to individual components of the preparation. Pregnancy, lactation period. Portal hypertension, alcoholism, renal failure, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Age under 12 years. Use with caution: in arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, narrow-angle glaucoma, severe liver or kidney diseases, lung diseases, benign prostatic hyperplasia, difficulty urinating, blood diseases, congenital hyperbilirubinemia - Gilbert's, Dubin-Johnson, and Rotor syndromes. Interactions with other drugs: It is recommended to refrain from taking the preparation when monoamine oxidase inhibitors are used. The risk of paracetamol hepatotoxicity increases with simultaneous intake of barbiturates, phenytoin, carbamazepine, rifampicin, zidovudine. The preparation enhances the effect of sedatives, ethanol. Antidepressants, anti-Parkinsonian and antipsychotic drugs, phenothiazine derivatives increase the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, constipation. Special instructions: To prevent toxic liver damage, alcoholic beverages are prohibited during the intake of the preparation. Do not take the preparation from damaged sachets. Overdose: Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, pain in the epigastric region; hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects, in severe cases, liver failure, encephalopathy, and coma develop. Treatment: gastric lavage, activated charcoal within the first 6 hours, administration of the appropriate antidote and medical supervision. Pregnancy and lactation: The use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. Driving and operating machinery: Driving a car or operating other machinery is not recommended during treatment with the preparation.
