What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name (Active Substance): dexpanthenol Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Agents affecting tissue metabolism; natural origin preparations Composition: Dexpanthenol 5% Pharmacological Properties: Exhibits anti-inflammatory, dermatoprotective, and regeneration-stimulating effects. Replenishes pantothenic acid deficiency. Dexpanthenol is converted in the body to the active metabolite - pantothenic acid, which plays a significant role in metabolic processes: metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and phospholipids. Ensures corticosteroid production, acetylates choline. Participates in the repair-regeneration of epithelium and mucous membranes, locally stimulates fibroblasts, the formation of collagen (increases resilience) and elastin fibers, accelerates mitosis. Indications: - Dry skin - Burns, bedsores - Trophic ulcers, herpes - Fissures (anal), dermatitis, allergic dermatosis - Poorly healing skin grafts - Radiation damage to the skin, also protects skin from sun and UV rays - Post-operative wounds and scars - Abscesses, furunculosis - Treatment and prevention of cracked nipples and other inflammatory processes during lactation - Used in newborns for the treatment and prevention of diaper rash (erythema) Dosage and Administration: For external use, Panthenol should be applied to the affected or inflamed skin area, twice or several times a day. Care for the mammary glands of nursing mothers: The ointment should be applied to the nipples after each breastfeeding. Can be used as a compress. Care for infants: The ointment is used at each diaper change. Side Effects: In rare cases, allergic skin reactions. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy and Lactation: Panthenol can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Storage Conditions: - Store in a place inaccessible and invisible to children. - Store at a temperature of +15 ºC/+25 ºC.
