International Nonproprietary Name - Neomycinum+Polymyxinum B+Nystatinum Dosage Form: Vaginal Capsules Composition: 1 capsule contains: Neomycin Sulfate ........................ 35,000 IU Polymyxin B Sulfate ................... 35,000 IU Nystatin ................................... 100,000 IU Excipients: Hydrogenated soybean oil, Tefose 63, Dimethicone 1000. Shell composition: Gelatin, Glycerin, Dimethicone 1000, sufficient quantity for a capsule weighing 3.2 g. Description: Soft, oval-shaped capsules of light pink color with an oily, viscous, homogeneous mass content. Pharmacotherapeutic Group: Combined antimicrobial agent. Indications: Treatment: Local treatment of nonspecific, fungal, mixed vaginitis, vulvovaginitis, and cervicovaginitis. Prophylaxis: Before all types of surgical interventions in gynecology; before and after cervical diathermocoagulation; before intrauterine diagnostic procedures; before childbirth. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Dosage and Administration: Administered intravaginally. One vaginal capsule before bedtime after evening hygiene. Duration of treatment is 12 days. For prophylaxis, a 6-day course. Side Effects: Allergic reactions to any component of the preparation. With prolonged use of the preparation, systemic manifestations of aminoglycoside side effects are possible. Interactions with Other Drugs: During treatment with Polyginax, the use of spermicides is not recommended, as any vaginal treatment reduces spermicidal activity. Important Information: Adhere to the specified dosage regimen, as there is a risk of developing resistant strains and superinfection. With prolonged treatment with the preparation, systemic manifestations of aminoglycoside side effects are possible, which are enhanced in case of renal failure. The preparation can also be used during menstruation. In case of renal failure, consult a doctor. Pregnancy and Lactation: Consult a doctor during pregnancy. The administration of the preparation is possible only when the beneficial effect for the mother significantly outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Since there is insufficient data on the excretion of active substances into breast milk, the use of the preparation during lactation is not recommended.
