What SEIDIGESTAN 200 MG is and what it is used for SEIDIGESTAN belongs to a group of medicines known as progestogens and contains natural progesterone. SEIDIGESTAN is used for disorders related to progesterone deficiency, as well as in hormone replacement therapy during menopause, to solve certain fertility problems, and to prevent certain types of premature birth and miscarriage. 2. What you need to know before taking SEIDIGESTAN 200 MG Do not take SEIDIGESTAN - if you are allergic to progesterone or any of the other ingredients of SEIDIGESTAN, listed in section 6. - This medicine contains soy lecithin. Do not use if you are allergic to peanuts or soy. - if you suffer from undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. - if you have a history of thromboembolic disorders. - if you suffer from severe liver failure. Warnings and precautions - In case of drowsiness, it is recommended to take the capsules before bedtime. - When used in the described conditions, the treatment has no contraceptive effect. Other medicines and SEIDIGESTAN Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, even those obtained without a prescription. SEIDIGESTAN with food and drink Taking food after taking the capsules increases their absorption, so it is recommended to take the capsules at the same time, not during meals, and to avoid variations in intake on different days. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Progesterone is a hormone that increases during pregnancy, so taking progesterone during pregnancy does not cause any side effects. Progesterone is excreted in breast milk, so taking progesterone during breastfeeding is not recommended. Driving and using machines Considering the described risk of drowsiness and/or dizziness associated with oral progesterone use, you should not perform activities that require special alertness during treatment, such as driving vehicles or operating dangerous machinery. 3. How to take SEIDIGESTAN 200 MG Follow your doctor's exact instructions for taking SEIDIGESTAN 200 MG. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Do not forget to take the medicine. Your doctor will inform you about the duration of treatment with SEIDIGESTAN. Do not stop treatment before the indicated duration. The dose to be administered must be determined according to the patient's hormone levels in the plasma and varies according to indications. Recommended dose is: Oral route: Take the capsules with a glass of water, not during meals. The recommended average dose is 200 to 300 mg per day (i.e., 200 mg before bedtime or 100 mg in the morning and 200 mg before bedtime). Vaginal route: Insert the capsules deep into the vagina using your finger. The dose can range from 200 mg to 600 mg per day. If you take more SEIDIGESTAN than you need Contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately or go to the nearest hospital. In case of overdose or ingestion of a large quantity, various effects may develop, such as menstrual disorders, even amenorrhea (absence of menstruation), as well as sedation (drowsiness) and liver function impairment. In case of accidental overdose or ingestion, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately or call the Poison Control Center. If you forget to take SEIDIGESTAN Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. 4. Possible side effects Like all medicines, SEIDIGESTAN can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects are: Oral route: - Drowsiness (tendency to sleep) and/or a feeling of brief dizziness. These effects occur 1 to 3 hours after taking the product. - Shortening of menstrual cycles or bleeding between periods. - Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation). Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you think a side effect is serious or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet. 5. How to store SEIDIGESTAN 200 MG No special storage conditions are required. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use SEIDIGESTAN after the expiry date indicated after EXP on the carton. The expiry date is the last day of the month indicated. Do not dispose of medicines down the drain or with household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of containers and medicines you no longer need. This will help protect the environment. 6. Contents of the pack and other information Composition of SEIDIGESTAN 200 MG capsules - The active substance is micronized progesterone. One capsule contains 200 mg of progesterone. - Other ingredients are sunflower oil, soy lecithin, gelatin, glycerol (E422), titanium dioxide (E171), and purified water. Appearance of the product and contents of the container Oval soft gelatin capsules. The product is presented in boxes containing 15 capsules (1 blister pack) or 60 capsules (4 blister packs).
