What is it?
CHLORHEXIDINE Composition: Active substance: Chlorhexidine Bigluconate; 100 ml of solution contains Chlorhexidine Bigluconate solution (20%) – 0.25 ml; Excipients: Purified water. Indications: For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, genital herpes); For disinfection of purulent wounds, infected burn surfaces; For the treatment of skin and mucous membrane infections in surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, urology (urethritis, urethroprostatitis), dentistry (rinsing and spraying - gingivitis, stomatitis, aphthae, periodontitis, alveolitis). For disinfection of microtraumas (wounds, abrasions, burns). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Predisposition to allergic reactions and allergic diseases, dermatitis, viral skin diseases. It is not recommended for use for conjunctival treatment and cavity irrigation, on large surface wounds, during operations on the central nervous system and auditory canal, in ophthalmology, for introduction into the auditory canal. Method of administration and dosage: The drug is intended for external use only. To prevent sexually transmitted infections, before using the drug, the bladder should be emptied, hands and genitals washed. Then, remove the cap, press the bottle walls, and treat the pubic area, inner thighs, and genital skin with the solution flow. Insert the nozzle tip into the external opening of the urethra, tightly press the urethra with your hand, and release 2-3 ml of solution (for men) or 1-2 ml of solution (for women; into the vagina - 5-10 ml). Then, without releasing your fingers, remove the nozzle from the urethra, and retain the solution for 2-3 minutes. Women should spray the remaining solution into the vagina. After the procedure, it is recommended not to empty the bladder for 2 hours. This preventive measure is effective if carried out no later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse. Complex treatment of urethritis and urethroprostatitis is carried out by introducing 2-3 ml of the drug solution into the urethra 1-2 times a day; the course of treatment is 10 days. Procedures should be prescribed every other day. For microtraumas, the skin around the wound should be treated with the solution, then a napkin moistened with the solution should be applied to the wound and secured with a bandage or plaster. The dressing should be changed 2-3 times a day. The duration of treatment depends on the disease, the nature of the complex therapy, and the patient's tolerance of the drug. The drug solution is used for soaking, irrigation, and as an application: apply 5-10 ml of solution to the affected skin or mucous membrane surface for 1-3 minutes 2-3 times a day (on a tampon or by soaking). During pregnancy or breastfeeding, the drug should be used at the usual recommended dose. Children. Do not use in children under 12 years of age. Storage conditions: Store in a place inaccessible to children at a temperature not exceeding 25 C, in the original packaging.
