What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - XYLOMETAZOLINE Active Substance: XYLOMETAZOLINE Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Alpha2-adrenomimetic agent. Vasoconstrictor agent for topical use in otorhinolaryngology. Composition and Dosage Form: Nasal drops 0.05%: in a 10 ml bottle 1 ml xylometazoline hydrochloride .... 500 mcg Nasal drops 0.1%: in a 10 ml bottle. 1 ml xylometazoline hydrochloride .... 1 mg Spray 0.05% for intranasal use: in a 15 ml bottle, with a spray-dispenser. 1 ml xylometazoline hydrochloride ..... 500 mcg Spray 0.1% for intranasal use: in a 15 ml bottle, with a spray-dispenser. 1 ml xylometazoline hydrochloride ..... 1 mg Indications: Rhinitis; relief of upper respiratory tract in viral and allergic colds; inflammatory diseases of paranasal sinuses (including sinusitis) and middle ear. Dosage and Administration: Xylometazoline nasal drops: Before first use, open the bottle and screw the cap on completely. This procedure will create a small opening in the dropper (1). Remove the cap. The bottle is ready for use. (2). After use, replace the cap. Xylometazoline spray for intranasal use: Before first use, remove the protective cap, press the spray head until a fine stream is formed (1). Remove the protective cap (2). Hold the spray head in a vertical position. (3). Tilt your head slightly, press one nostril with your finger, and insert the spray head into the other nostril. (4). Administer the aerosol by pressing the spray head quickly. Adults and children over 7 years of age: 0.1% xylometazoline nasal spray - 1 spray in each nostril no more than 3 times a day. Children aged 2 to 6 years: 0.05% xylometazoline drops - 1-2 drops in each nostril no more often than 2-3 times a day or 0.05% xylometazoline nasal spray - 1 spray in each nostril no more than 3 times a day. In all cases, the duration of treatment should not exceed 1 week. Special Instructions: ◄ For children under 2 years of age, the use of 0.05% xylometazoline nasal drops and spray is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor. ◄ For children under 7 years of age, the use of 0.1% xylometazoline nasal drops and spray is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor.
