Musculoskeletal and connective tissue: Muscle weakness. Nervous system: Loss of taste, headache. Kidneys and urinary tract: Azotemia. Side effects associated with milk-alkali syndrome: Asthenia and calcinosis. Overdose Prolonged use of the drug in high doses, especially in patients with impaired kidney function, can lead to renal failure, hypermagnesemia, hypercalcemia, and alkalosis, which can provoke gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, constipation) and muscle weakness. In such cases, it is necessary to discontinue the drug and drink sufficient fluids. In severe cases of overdose (e.g., milk-alkali syndrome), medical consultation is required, as additional measures to restore water balance may be necessary.
