What is it?
Description: Ribohial is an artificial tear in a hypoosmolar gel form, containing hyaluronic acid conjugated with riboflavin, used for dry eye disease. Indication: Dry eye surface is an inflammatory condition caused by changes in the tear film components. Tears become insufficient both quantitatively and qualitatively (water, mucins, and lipids). Ribohial moisturizes the cornea and conjunctiva, and also provides nourishing, protective, and antioxidant effects against environmental factors such as physical (thermal, traumatic), radiant (smartphone, TV, computer, sunlight), and chemical (liquid and gaseous pollutants) sources. Therefore, Ribohial ophthalmic solution is indicated for all patients who need to lubricate the ocular surface and reduce the impact of oxidative stress. The product can be used while wearing contact lenses. Moreover, the characteristic hypoosmolarity of the solution helps to reduce the hyperosmolarity of tears present in dry eye syndrome and restore osmotic balance. Vitamin E TPGS can form amphiphilic micellar structures. This allows the ophthalmic solution to promote the natural restoration of the altered lipid layer in dry eye syndrome caused by meibomian gland dysfunction. Furthermore, the ability of Vitamin E TPGS to form micellar structures helps to fix hyaluronic acid on the ocular surface, promoting the natural restoration of the mucin layer of the tear film. The microvilli of the ocular surface cell membranes are rich in microvilli, whose function is to mechanically bind hyaluronic acid to other glycoproteins of the extracellular matrix. This ensures mechanical intercellular adhesion of conjugated hyaluronic acid. In this way, it can exert its antioxidant, protective, nourishing, and restorative action on the entire ocular surface. The Ribohial molecule, due to its ability to bind to the microvilli of ocular epithelial cells, allows conjugated hyaluronic acid to mechanically attach to cells, promoting the restoration of the mucin layer of the tear film and the regeneration of the epithelial membrane under the influence of various pathogenic factors. Ribohial gel is used like regular eye drops, it dissolves in seconds, creating a stable protective layer on the tear film, counteracting rapid tear evaporation. How to use: 1. Remove the protective ring from the bottle before use. 2. Open the bottle and remove the protective cap. 3. Gently squeeze the bottle and instill 2-4 drops into each eye, or as directed by your doctor. Repeat as needed. Close the bottle cap after use: The remaining product can be used for 2 months after the first opening. The product can also be used while wearing contact lenses. Composition: Ribohial 0.1%, Vitamin E TPGS 0.2%, Sodium Citrate, Monosodium Phosphate, Disodium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Distilled Water. Precautions: The product is intended for ophthalmic use. The product is recommended for use by one patient only. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the components. Do not use this product if the packaging is damaged or improperly sealed upon first opening. Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the packaging. If problems arise during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Do not touch the eye or any other surface with the tip of the dropper when using the product. The expiry date refers to the intact and properly stored product. Storage: Store at room temperature 5-30 C in the original packaging and protect from direct sunlight. After use, close the bottle cap. The remaining solution should not be used more than 2 months after the first opening of the bottle.
