Indications For hay fever, allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema. Dosage and Administration For adults and children over 12 years of age, 10mg once daily. For children aged 6-12 years, 5mg twice daily. For children aged 2-6 years, 5mg once daily. In patients with moderate or severe renal insufficiency, the dose should be reduced by half. Side Effects Possible: dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, fatigue. Rare: skin manifestations of allergic reaction, angioneurotic edema. In isolated cases: dyspepsia, excitability. Contraindications Renal insufficiency, pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to cetirizine. Pregnancy and Lactation Use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. Special Instructions Cetirizine should be prescribed with caution in patients with chronic renal insufficiency, as well as in elderly patients. Dose adjustment is not required in elderly patients with normal kidney function. There is insufficient experience with the use of cetirizine in children under 1 year of age. When the dose exceeds 10mg/day, the ability to react quickly may be reduced. During the treatment period, it is necessary to refrain from potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions. Concomitant use of cetirizine with theophylline causes a 16% reduction in the total clearance of cetirizine.
