What is it?
International Name - Selenium L-Methionine Properties: Selenium L-Methionine is the most easily absorbed organic form of selenium for the human body. It is a component of up to two hundred enzymes and hormones. It is the most powerful and main antioxidant in living organisms, glutathione peroxidase, which is selenium-dependent. It is part of the enzyme that activates thyroxine. Selenium deficiency can lead to slowed metabolism and obesity. Pharmacological Action: Selenium is considered a potent anticarcinogenic agent. It protects DNA structure, controls normal cell division, and prevents the formation of tumor cells. It helps eliminate toxic metals from the body (cadmium, mercury, lead) that damage the heart muscle. Selenium protects the heart muscle from oxygen starvation. Selenium protects the thyroid gland from the harmful effects of free radicals. It reduces the negative impact of adverse ecological factors on the body, thereby reducing the risk of occupational diseases. It stimulates hair growth. It slows down the aging process.
