TACROLINI OINTMENT 0.1% 30G Composition: Active substance: Contains tacrolimus monohydrate, equivalent to 1.0 mg tacrolimus. Excipients: Liquid paraffin, white beeswax, propylene carbonate, petrolatum. Indication: Tacrolini 0.1% ointment is used for the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults for whom traditional therapies, such as topical corticosteroids (medications containing cortisone for anti-inflammatory and other conditions), are ineffective or not tolerated. Once severe atopic dermatitis is controlled or almost controlled after 6 weeks of treatment, and the patient experiences frequent relapses (e.g., 4 or more per year), the development of relapses can be prevented or the period between relapses can be extended by using Tacrolini 0.1% ointment twice weekly. In cases of atopic dermatitis (eczema), hyperreactivity of the skin's immune system leads to skin inflammation (itching, redness, dryness). Tacrolini modifies the pathological immune response and relieves skin inflammation and itching. Dosage and Administration: Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency Tacrolini should always be used as prescribed by a doctor. If the patient is unsure, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Route and method of administration: Tacrolini should be applied as a thin layer to the affected skin area. Tacrolini can be used on most parts of the body, including the face, neck, and the bends of elbows and knees. The ointment should not be used in the mouth, nose, or eyes. If the ointment comes into contact with these areas, it should be removed and/or thoroughly rinsed with water. The treated skin area should not be bandaged or covered with a dressing. Hands should be washed after applying Tacrolini, unless the hands are being treated. After bathing or showering, the skin should be completely dry before applying Tacrolini. Adult patients (16 years and older) Two doses of Tacrolini are available for adult patients (16 years and older): Tacrolini 0.03% ointment and Tacrolini 0.1% ointment. The treating physician will determine the appropriate dose for the patient. Generally, treatment should be initiated with Tacrolini 0.1% ointment twice daily, morning and evening, and continued until eczema symptoms subside. Based on the response to treatment, the doctor will determine the need to reduce the frequency of use or switch to Tacrolini 0.03% ointment. Each affected skin area should be treated until the eczema subsides. Improvement is usually observed within a week. If there is no improvement after two weeks, consult a doctor for other possible treatment options. A doctor may prescribe Tacrolini 0.1% ointment twice weekly after atopic dermatitis (eczema) is fully or almost fully controlled. Tacrolini 0.1% ointment is used once a day, twice a week (e.g., Monday and Thursday) on areas of the body typically affected by atopic dermatitis. The interval between applications of Tacrolini ointment should be 2-3 days. If symptoms recur, Tacrolini ointment should be used twice daily as described above, and a doctor should be consulted to evaluate the treatment. Storage: Tacrolini should be stored out of reach of children and in its packaging. Store at room temperature, below 25°C.
