Dosage and administration Adults should dissolve one lozenge every two hours, approximately 8 times a day, and children 6 times a day. With regular administration of the preparation, the symptoms usually disappear within a few days. Side effects Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions to tyrothricin may occur. TRRACHISAN® lozenges are generally well tolerated, but the preparation may cause a worsening of taste sensation and numbness of the tongue, which usually disappears completely. Discoloration of teeth, fillings, dentures or tongue with a yellowish-brown color, which occurs rarely with prolonged use of the preparation, disappears with proper oral hygiene; however, the discoloration itself disappears immediately after discontinuation of the preparation.
