What is it?

Castor Oil /Ricini oleum/ Solution 30ml Bottle Composition: Active substance: Castor oil (Ricini oleum). Excipients: Contains no other excipients. Indication: The active substance of castor oil - ricinoleic acid triglyceride stimulates the small intestine. Taking the entire dose of castor oil within 2-6 hours causes bowel movement once or twice with abundant, semi-liquid fecal matter. Castor oil is indicated for functional constipation. For this reason, it is used when rapid bowel evacuation is desired: before radiological examination, before surgery, or before childbirth. Contraindication: Do not use in case of abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, nausea, or vomiting. The patient should not take the preparation if they have gallstone disease, bile duct obstruction, chronic constipation, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract or uterus. It cannot be used with fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K). Do not use during pregnancy, as it may cause premature labor. Do not use during lactation, as the child may develop diarrhea. Use in children under 1 year of age is not recommended. Side effects: Nausea, vomiting, colic, severe diarrhea, dyspepsia, water-electrolyte imbalance, especially in children. Interaction with other medications: Do not use during the expulsion of tapeworms with male fern extract. Absorption is reduced when taken with fat-soluble vitamins. Diarrhea affects absorption, so it is recommended to take other preparations 2-6 hours after taking castor oil. Precautions: Castor oil is used for short-term functional constipation. With prolonged use, the effect of castor oil decreases. Children's intestines are more sensitive to castor oil, and there is a risk of dehydration. In children, castor oil should only be used as prescribed by a doctor. Driving and operating machinery: Its intake before driving a car or operating machinery is not recommended, as the onset of defecation varies from 2 to 6 hours. Dosage: For oral administration. The following doses are recommended for diarrhea: Children aged 1 to 5 years - 1 full teaspoon; Children aged 5 to 12 years - 1 full dessert spoon; Adults and elderly - 1 - 2 full tablespoons; Due to sleep disturbance at night, it is recommended to take the preparation in the morning. Storage: Store in a place inaccessible to children, in the original packaging, at a temperature below 25C.
