Aklifi Cream 50mcg 30g Composition: The active substance is trifarotene, one gram of cream contains 50 micrograms of trifarotene. Other excipients are allantoin, Simulgel 600 PHA (acrylamide and sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, sorbitan oleate), cyclomethicone, ethanol, phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol (E1520), medium-chain triglycerides and purified water. Indication: Aklifi contains the active substance trifarotene, which belongs to a group of medicines called retinoids. Aklifi is used for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris on the face and/or body in patients aged 12 years and older, when a large number of comedones (whiteheads and blackheads), papules, and pustules (inflammatory pus-filled lesions) are present. Usage: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Important: Aklifi is intended for patients aged 12 years and older for use on the face and/or body skin only. Do not use this medicine on other parts of the body. Do not swallow. Keep Aklifi out of the reach of children. How to use: Before using the pump for the first time, prepare it by pressing it several times (up to 10 times) until a small amount of medicine is dispensed. The pump is now ready for use. Apply a thin layer of Aklifi cream to the affected areas of the face (forehead, nose, chin, right and left cheeks) and affected areas of the body once a day, in the evening, on clean and dry skin: One pump actuation should be sufficient to cover the face (i.e., forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin). Two pump actuations should be sufficient to cover the upper part of the body (i.e., the reachable back, shoulders, and chest). One (1) additional pump actuation may be used for the middle and lower back if acne is also present there. More than four (4) pump actuations per day are not recommended. Avoid contact with eyes, eyelids, lips, and mucous membranes, such as inside the nose or mouth. If the cream accidentally gets into any of these areas, rinse it immediately with plenty of warm water. Wash your hands immediately after applying the cream. You should use a moisturizer as often as needed, starting from the beginning of treatment with Aklifi. Moisturizer can be applied before or after Aklifi, with sufficient interval to allow the skin to dry between moisturizer and Aklifi application. Your doctor will tell you how long you will need to use Aklifi. After three months of treatment, your doctor may need to assess further improvement of acne. Use in children: Aklifi must not be used in children under 12 years of age. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Pregnancy: Do not use Aklifi if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant. Your doctor can provide you with more information. If you discover that you are pregnant during treatment, stop using this medicine and consult your doctor immediately. Breastfeeding: There is a risk that the active substance in the cream may be excreted in breast milk when using Aklifi, and a risk to the newborn/infant cannot be excluded. You and your doctor should decide whether to stop breastfeeding or refrain from therapy with Aklifi, considering the benefits of breastfeeding for the baby and the benefits of therapy for the mother. Breastfeeding women should not use Aklifi on the chest or breast area to avoid the risk of ingestion and/or contact exposure in infants. Effects on ability to drive and use machines: Aklifi has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machines. Storage: Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Discard the tube or pump 6 months after first opening.
