What is it?

Albucid (Sulfacyl) Eye Drops 20% 10ml Vial Composition: Active substance: Sodium sulfacetamide 200 mg/ml; Excipients: Polyvinyl alcohol 1.4%; Sodium thiosulfate 1.5 mg/ml; Monobasic sodium phosphate 1.56 mg/ml; Dibasic sodium phosphate 0.71 mg/ml; Disodium edetate 0.01 mg/ml; Benzalkonium chloride 0.005%; Water for injection. Indications: Conjunctivitis, blepharitis, purulent corneal ulcers, and other infectious eye diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to sulfonamides; complex treatment of trachoma. Contraindications: Toxico-allergic reactions to sulfonamides. Use during pregnancy and lactation: As indicated. Side effects: Local irritation, burning, non-specific conjunctivitis, conjunctival hyperemia. Dosage and administration: Instill 1-2 drops every 2-3 hours initially. The course of treatment is 7-10 days. For trachoma – instill 2 drops every 2 hours. Overdose: The dose of the preparation should be reduced, the interval between eye drop applications should be increased, or the use of the preparation should be discontinued. Interactions with other drugs: When used with Novocaine and Dicaine, the bacteriostatic effect of the preparation is reduced. Incompatibility of sodium sulfacetamide is observed when used with silver salts. Special instructions: In patients with individual hypersensitivity to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylureas, or carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, hypersensitivity to sodium sulfacetamide may occur. Warnings: Prolonged use may lead to: increase in microorganisms insensitive to the preparation, including fungi; development of bacterial resistance. Shelf life: 2 years. Store at 8-25C.
