- Alzeba Tablet 10mg Composition: The active substance is memantine hydrochloride. Each film-coated tablet contains 10mg memantine hydrochloride (equivalent to 8.31mg memantine). Other components - core: croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc and magnesium stearate; Coating: polyvinyl, polyethylene glycol polymer (Coating Iღ), polydextrose, heavy kaolin, macrogol 400, titanium dioxide (E 171). Indication: Alzeba is used for the treatment of patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. Dosage and method of administration: Dosage: The recommended dose of Alzeba in adults and elderly patients is 20mg once daily. To reduce the risk of side effects, this dose is achieved gradually according to the following treatment schedule: Week 1 - 0.5 x 10mg tablet Week 2 - 10mg tablet Week 3 - 1.5 x 10mg tablet Week 4 and onwards - 2 x 10mg tablet once daily The usual starting dose is half a tablet once daily (1 x 5mg) during the first week. This dose is increased to one tablet (1 x 10mg) once daily in the second week and one and a half tablets once daily in the third week. From the fourth week, the dose is 2 tablets once daily (1 x 20mg). Dosage in patients with renal impairment: If you have renal impairment, your doctor will decide on the dose you need. In this case, the doctor should monitor kidney function at certain intervals. Administration: Alzeba should be taken orally once daily. For the drug to be effective, it should be taken at the same time every day. Swallow the tablets with a little water. The drug can be taken with or without food. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. The use of memantine is not recommended during pregnancy. Women should avoid breastfeeding while taking Alzeba.
