Properties

What is it?

Alcetine Syrup 2.5mg/5ml 150ml Bottle Composition: 1 ml contains as active ingredient: 0.5 mg desloratadine. Excipients: sucrose, propylene glycol, sorbitol (70%), sodium benzoate, sodium citrate dihydrate, anhydrous citric acid, disodium edetate, sunset yellow FCF dye, tutti frutti flavoring, deionized water. Indications: Symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose and itching, itchy eyes, redness and tearing, itchy palate; also used to relieve symptoms caused by urticaria, including itching and rash. The preparation relieves symptoms all day long and does not interfere with daily activities and sleep. Alcetine is indicated in children from 6 months to 11 years of age, adolescents (from 12 years of age) and adults, including the elderly. Dosage and administration: Children aged 6 months to 11 months: 2 ml of syrup once daily. Use measuring spoon up to 2 ml. Children aged 1 to 5 years: 2.5 ml of syrup once daily. Use measuring spoon up to 2.5 ml. Children aged 6 months to 11 years: 5 ml of syrup once daily. Use measuring spoon up to 5 ml. Adults and children from 12 years of age: 10 ml of syrup once daily. Use measuring spoon up to 5 ml twice. The doctor will determine the type of allergic rhinitis and decide on the duration of treatment. In case of urticaria, treatment may vary in patients and doctor's instructions should be followed accordingly. Syrup is for oral administration, to be taken with water. Alcetine is used from 6 months of age. The efficacy and safety of Alcetine in the elderly have not been established. No data are available on the use of the preparation in liver failure. Alcetine should be taken with caution in acute renal failure. Side effects: Fatigue, dry mouth, headache. Allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, wheezing, itching, hives, rash; hallucinations, convulsions, restlessness with increased motor activity, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, deviations in liver function test results, hepatitis, dizziness, physical and mental hyperactivity, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, insomnia, drowsiness, muscle pain, bloating. Contraindications: Allergy to desloratadine, loratadine or any other ingredient of Alcetine, especially sunset yellow FCF dye. Interactions with other drugs: Interactions of Alcetine with other drugs are not known. The patient should inform the doctor about any medication they are taking, have taken, or plan to take. Special instructions: Take with special caution if kidney function is impaired. Alcetine can be taken before and after meals. Alcetine contains sucrose and sorbitol. If the patient has been informed by their doctor that they have intolerance to any sugar, they should consult their doctor before taking the preparation. Alcetine contains sunset yellow FCF dye, which may cause allergic reactions. Each dose of the preparation contains less than 1 mmol of sodium. No side effects are expected in this regard. The preparation contains 100 mg/ml of propylene glycol. Side effects caused by propylene glycol are not expected. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered. Taking a double dose to compensate for a missed dose is not allowed. No expected effects related to the discontinuation of Alcetine have been observed. Pregnancy and lactation: Do not take during pregnancy and lactation. Consult your doctor for advice.
