Properties

What is it?

Alicid Cream 1% 30g Tube Composition: Active ingredient(s): Each gram of cream contains 10 mg of terbinafine hydrochloride. Excipient(s): Sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan monostearate, cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, isopropyl myristate, and purified water. Indication: Alicid is an effective antifungal agent. Alicid kills or inhibits the growth of some fungi that cause skin problems. Alicid is used to treat fungal infections such as athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), ringworm (tinea corporis), rash (candidiasis), and pityriasis versicolor. Usage: Apply Alicid to the infected areas of the skin as described below: Athlete's foot (tinea pedis): once daily for 1 week. Jock itch (tinea cruris) and ringworm (tinea corporis): once daily for 1 week. Rash (cutaneous candidiasis): once or twice daily for 1 week. Pityriasis versicolor (pityriasis versicolor): once or twice daily for 2 weeks. Continue to use the cream for the recommended treatment period, even if the infection improves after a few days. If the cream is used irregularly or stopped prematurely, the infection may reappear. Your skin condition will improve within a few days of starting treatment with Alicid. However, it will take longer for the damaged skin to fully heal after the infection is cured. The effect of Alicid will continue even after the treatment period is completed, and your skin will continue to heal. If you do not notice any signs of improvement within 2 weeks of starting treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Method of Use: Apply the cream as follows: Clean the affected skin and surrounding area(s) and wash your hands. When you first use the tube, it should be sealed. Pierce the sealed area with the tip on the cap. Apply a small amount of cream to your fingertip. Close the cap of the tube. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin and surrounding areas. Gently rub it in. Wash your hands. Otherwise, you may spread the infection to other parts of your skin or to other people. If the skin is affected between the fingers or toes, or on the buttocks, under the breasts, in the armpits, or in the groin area, you can cover the area with gauze after applying the cream. This is especially recommended at bedtime. If you use gauze, use a new, clean piece of gauze with each application of the cream. For the treatment to be successful, the affected skin area should be kept clean by washing it regularly. Pat the skin dry gently without rubbing. Do not scratch the area, even if it itches, as this can further damage the skin and slow down the healing process or spread the infection. Storage: Keep this medicine out of the reach of children in its original packaging. Store at room temperature below 25ºC. Keep the tube tightly closed.
