What is it?
Ambene Parenteral Solution for Injection 200mg/1ml in 2ml Ampoules Composition: Active substances: Phenylbutazone, Lidocaine Hydrochloride. A 2 ml ampoule with solution for injection contains 400 mg of Phenylbutazone Sodium, 4 mg of Lidocaine Hydrochloride. Excipients: Sodium Hydroxide, Water for Injection. Indications: Used for symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation in the following cases: acute attack of Bechterew's disease, acute attack of chronic polyarthritis, gout attack. The injectable form of Ambene should only be used if oral administration is not possible or has not achieved sufficient effect. Dosage and Administration: For the treatment of acute attacks of Bechterew's disease, rheumatic arthritis, and gout, take 1 ampoule. The contents of 1 ampoule are slowly and deeply injected intramuscularly with a syringe. To avoid local irritation caused by the highly concentrated solution of the medication, the injection should be administered gently and carefully, ensuring the needle does not enter a blood vessel. The contents should be injected very slowly (!) to avoid tissue damage and pain during administration. The injection is given to a lying patient and must be intramuscular. For overweight patients, a long syringe should be used. The injection should not hit or be near a nerve. If severe pain or loss of sensation occurs during injection, it should be stopped immediately. Injecting into the anterior part of the muscle ensures that the syringe does not hit or come near a nerve. Particular caution is required when injecting into the lower part of the muscle. In case of acute attack, Ambene is administered only once; treatment is continued with tablets or suppositories. Side Effects: Gastrointestinal ulcer, perforation or bleeding, sometimes leading to death, more common in elderly patients, as well as vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, bleeding, constipation, indigestion, abdominal pain, black stools, bloody vomiting, inflammation of the oral mucosa, colitis and Crohn's disease. Edema, high blood pressure, and heart muscle weakness. Myocardial infarction, anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis. High temperature, sore throat, superficial oral ulcers, flu-like complications, severe fatigue, nosebleeds. If such symptoms appear, the drug should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted. Ambene may complicate and prolong any bleeding. Headaches, dizziness, fatigue, pulmonary edema, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, impaired pancreatic function, inflammation of the salivary glands, inflammation of the oral mucosa, gastrointestinal ulcers may also develop. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to phenylbutazone, pyrazolone compounds, or other components of the medication; history of asthma attacks or reactions such as nasal mucosal swelling or skin reactions when taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Disorders of blood formation and coagulation of unknown cause. If the patient currently has or has a history of stomach or duodenal ulcer or bleeding.
