What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Simethicone Digestive disorders, improper diet, foods with bloating properties, and swallowing air often lead to abdominal bloating. This complicates or makes normal absorption of gases through the intestinal wall impossible. Gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract occurs in the form of a slow, small-bubbled foam. In Antiflat, the active ingredient - simethicone - causes the foam to break down. This allows intestinal gases to be expelled naturally. The active ingredient itself is not absorbed into the blood and is excreted from the body unchanged. Taking Antiflat usually leads to rapid relief from discomfort with a feeling of relief and eliminates the feeling of tension in a bloated abdomen. Heart attacks caused by diaphragm displacement (so-called Roemheld syndrome) also disappear after a short time. Antiflat is used for adults, adolescents, and children over 2 years of age. - In case of excessive gas formation and gas accumulation (meteorism) in the gastrointestinal tract, such as bloating, feeling of fullness, and tension in the upper abdomen, which may be caused, for example, by swallowing air, improper diet, or diet. - During gas formation after surgery and also in case of Roemheld syndrome. - Preparation for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area to reduce gas shadows (ultrasound examination, X-ray). Children and adolescents Antiflat is allowed for use in children and adolescents from 2 years of age. For children under 2 years of age, it is recommended to take it in the form of a suspension. Antiflat drops are available for this purpose. Taking Antiflat with other medications Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used, or might take/use any other medications. Although no interactions are known to date, the effect of Antiflat on other drugs cannot be ruled out. Taking Antiflat with food and drink The effect of food or drink on the effectiveness of Antiflat is not known. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Since simethicone is not absorbed by the body, Antiflat can be prescribed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ability to drive and operate machinery Antiflat does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery. Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Unless otherwise specified, follow the dosage exactly. The following are recommended for the treatment of gas and bloating: - Take 1 or 2 chewable tablets 3 times a day during or after meals. If necessary, 1 or 2 chewable tablets can also be taken before bedtime. - For preparation for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area, adults take 2 or 3 chewable tablets the day before the examination, after each meal, and in the morning of the examination day. Type of use: Be sure to chew the tablets before swallowing. Duration of use The duration of use depends on the type and course of the symptoms. If necessary, Antiflat can be taken for a longer period. If symptoms persist or if the expected result is not achieved after use, medical advice is required.
