Properties

What is it?

Composition: 1 ml of the preparation contains as an active substance: Nepafenac 3 mg. Excipients: boric acid, propylene glycol, carbomer 974P, sodium chloride, guar gum, sodium carmellose, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid, purified water. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Indications: Prevention and treatment of pain and inflammatory phenomena after cataract surgery; reduction of the risk of postoperative cystoid macular edema in patients with diabetes mellitus undergoing cataract surgery. Dosage and administration: For topical use only. Shake the bottle well before use. Prevention and treatment of pain and inflammatory phenomena after cataract surgery: Instill 1 drop of the preparation into the conjunctival sac of the eye once daily. Treatment begins 1 day before cataract surgery and continues for the first 2 weeks of the postoperative period. An additional drop of the preparation should be instilled 30-120 minutes before surgery. Reduction of the risk of postoperative cystoid macular edema in patients with diabetes mellitus undergoing cataract surgery: Instill 1 drop of AFFECTOS into the conjunctival sac once daily. Treatment begins one day before cataract surgery, on the day of surgery, and continues for 60 days in the postoperative period. An additional drop of the preparation should be instilled 30-120 minutes before surgery. Side effects: Keratitis, punctate keratitis, damage to the corneal epithelium, foreign body sensation, crust formation on the eyelid margin; iritis, choroidal effusion, deposits on the cornea, eye pain, visual discomfort, eyelid inflammation, eye itching, eye discharge, allergic conjunctivitis, increased tearing, conjunctival redness; delayed corneal healing, corneal opacity, corneal scarring, decreased visual acuity, eye irritation, eyelid swelling, ulcerative keratitis, corneal thinning, blurred vision. Hypersensitivity, dizziness; headache. Increased blood pressure. Nausea; vomiting, chloasma, allergic dermatitis. Punctate keratitis; damage to the corneal epithelium. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, bronchial asthma, urticaria, acute rhinitis associated with the use of aspirin or other NSAIDs. Age up to 10 years. Interactions with other drugs: Concurrent use of topical NSAIDs and corticosteroids may slow or inhibit healing. Concurrent use of prostaglandin analogs and AFFECTOS is not recommended. With the use of AFFECTOS, there is a possibility of developing cross-sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid, phenylacetic acid derivatives, and other NSAIDs. When combined with other topical ophthalmic preparations, if necessary, a 5-minute interval should be observed. Special instructions: Patients should avoid exposure to sunlight. Patients with signs of corneal damage should discontinue the use of the preparation immediately and have their corneal condition checked. Patients with surgical ophthalmological intervention complications, corneal denervation, corneal epithelial defects, diabetes mellitus, superficial eye diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, or repeated surgical interventions within a short period of time may have an increased risk of developing side reactions from the cornea, which may be a threat to vision loss. During surgical operations on the eyes with the use of topical NSAIDs, intensive bleeding in the eye tissues may develop. Use the preparation with caution
