What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Sea-water Active Substance: Sea water Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Natural origin preparation for topical use in otorhinolaryngology. Pharmacological Properties: The mechanism of action of the preparation is due to the properties of its components. Sterilized and brought to isotonic state sea water ensures the normal physiological state of the nasal mucosa. The preparation helps to liquefy mucus and normalize its production in the mucous membrane. Microelements in the preparation improve the function of the ciliated epithelium, which enhances the resistance of the nasal mucosa to bacteria and viruses. The preparation ensures the washing away of street and room dust, allergens, and haptens from the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing the inflammatory process locally. Indications: Improvement of nasal breathing; adenoiditis in children; acute and chronic diseases of the nasal cavity and nasopharynx; postoperative period after nasal surgery; allergic and vasomotor rhinitis in children and adults (especially those with increased sensitivity to drugs); prevention of nasal cavity infections in the autumn-winter period; protection of the upper respiratory tract from constant harmful exposure (tobacco smokers, car drivers, workers in dusty workshops); maintenance of nasal mucosa characteristics. Nasal drops for children are used from 1 year of age. For therapeutic purposes: 2 drops in each nostril 4 times a day. For prophylaxis: 1-2 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment in all cases is 2-4 weeks. A repeat course is recommended after 1 month. Side Effects: Allergic reactions are possible. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to components. Pregnancy and Lactation: The preparation can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Special Instructions: The preparation does not contain synthetic additives and preservatives. It can be used together with other preparations during the treatment of rhinitis.
