Properties

What is it?

Composition: 1 g of gel contains as an active ingredient: Tenoxicam 10 mg. Excipients: Carbomer, 96% Ethanol, Triethanolamine, Purified Water. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for external use. Indications: For the treatment of pain syndrome associated with the following muscle and joint diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, radiculitis, lumbago, sciatica; rheumatic diseases of soft tissues, such as tendovaginitis, bursitis, damage to periarticular tissues, etc.; post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and joints (due to sprains, overexertion, and injuries). Dosage and administration: Artoxan gel is for external use, 1-2 times a day. A strip of gel approximately 2-5 cm long is applied to the skin and rubbed in gently. After using the preparation, it is necessary to wash your hands. The duration of treatment depends on the indications and the effectiveness of the therapy. After 2 weeks of using the preparation, a doctor's consultation is required. The preparation is not used for more than 14 days for soft tissue injuries or rheumatic diseases of soft tissues, and for more than 21 days for pain caused by arthritis. If there is no positive clinical dynamics within 7 days, or if the condition worsens, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Side effects: Redness, itching, or burning sensation. Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions are observed: rash, urticaria, bronchial asthma, angioneurotic edema. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs; violation of skin integrity; third trimester of pregnancy; age under 12 years. Interaction with other drugs: The preparation is used with caution together with other NSAIDs. Artoxan gel is not used with local cosmetic products. Special instructions: Artoxan gel should only be applied to intact skin. After application, a occlusive dressing should not be applied. The preparation should not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Artoxan is prescribed with caution in cases of exacerbation of hepatic porphyria, erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, severe impairment of liver and kidney function, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, and in elderly patients. Driving and operating machinery: Does not affect driving and performing other work that requires speed of psychomotor reactions. Pregnancy and lactation: It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy and lactation. Overdose: Accidental ingestion may lead to systemic side effects, in which case gastric lavage, intake of activated charcoal, and symptomatic measures are recommended.
