What is it?
Acetylsalicylic Acid 0.5 g Tablets Composition: Active substance: 1 tablet contains 0.5 g acetylsalicylic acid; Excipients: potato starch, talc, citric acid; Dosage form: Tablets Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic agent; Pharmacological properties The preparation has antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, and also reduces platelet aggregation. Pharmacokinetics. After oral administration, acetylsalicylic acid is converted to its main metabolite – salicylic acid. Absorption of acetylsalicylic acid and salicylic acid in the gastrointestinal tract is rapid and complete. The preparation is excreted from the body in the form of metabolites, mainly by the kidneys. Indications Pain syndrome of mild and moderate intensity of various genesis (including inflammatory), fever, rheumatological diseases. Contraindications Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum; increased tendency to bleeding, kidney diseases, impaired kidney and/or liver function; concomitant treatment with anticoagulants; glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, bronchial asthma; chronic or recurrent dyspeptic symptoms; history of erosive-ulcerative lesions of the upper gastrointestinal tract; pregnancy, lactation period; hypersensitivity to salicylates, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or other allergens; heart failure; children under 12 years of age. Precautions for use Consult a doctor before starting treatment! Do not prolong the duration of administration of the preparation without consulting a doctor! If the symptoms of the disease do not start to disappear or, conversely, the health condition worsens or adverse events occur, consult a doctor! The preparation is prescribed with caution in bronchial asthma and gout. It is not recommended to use the preparation in children under 15 years of age with hyperthermia against the background of chickenpox, influenza, acute respiratory-viral infections due to the high risk of developing Reye's syndrome. Prescribed with caution in the elderly, with impaired kidney and/or liver function. It is advisable to refrain from consuming alcohol during the administration of the preparation. Interactions In case of taking other medications or self-medication, consult a doctor about taking the preparation. Concomitant administration of acetylsalicylic acid and anticoagulants increases the risk of bleeding. Concomitant use of acetylsalicylic acid and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs enhances the therapeutic and side effects of the latter. Against the background of acetylsalicylic acid intake, the side effects of methotrexate are enhanced. With concomitant administration of acetylsalicylic acid and oral antidiabetic drugs of the sulfonylurea derivative group, the hypoglycemic effect of the latter is enhanced. When taken with corticosteroids, the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding increases. Acetylsalicylic acid weakens the action of spironolactone, furosemide, antihypertensive drugs and agents that promote the excretion of uric acid. Administration of antacids against the background of acetylsalicylic acid intake (especially at doses exceeding 3 g of acetylsalicylic acid in adults and 1.5 g in children) can lower the high stable levels of salicylates in the blood. Routes of administration and dosage Acetylsalicylic acid is taken orally. Single dose for adults – 0.5 – 1 g (1-2 tablets), daily – up to 3 g (6 tablets). If necessary, the single dose can be taken 3 times a day at 4-8 hour intervals. For children over 12 years of age – 250 mg 2 times a day; daily dose – not more than 750 mg. The tablet can be dissolved in water before administration.
