What is it?
Composition: The active substance is Cefaclor. 5 ml of suspension contains 250 mg of Cefaclor (equivalent to 262.2 mg of Cefaclor monohydrate). Excipients: Dimethicone, Polysaccharide, E 127 Erythrosine, Strawberry flavor, Sodium lauryl sulfate, Methylcellulose, and Sucrose. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antibiotics of the cephalosporin group. Indications: Respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, exacerbation of chronic inflammation of the bronchi, pharynx, and tonsils. Bacterial otitis media; skin and soft tissue infections; urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis and lower urinary tract infections; inflammation of the mucous membrane of the paranasal sinuses; bacterial urinary tract infections. Dosage and administration: Recommended dose: For adults: 250 mg every 8 hours. In case of more severe infections, a dose increase may be necessary. The maximum recommended daily dose is 2 g. For the treatment of acute gonococcal urethritis in both sexes, it is recommended to take 3 g of Cefaclor, if necessary with 1 g of Probenecid. Use in children - 20 mg/kg daily, divided into doses every 8 hours; in case of stronger infections, a recommended daily dose of 40 mg/kg, maximum daily dose 1 g. Alternative dosage: For otitis media and pharyngitis, the total daily dose can be divided into doses every 12 hours. Instructions for use: To take the medicine, use a syringe or measuring cup, according to the given dosage table for a dose of 40 mg/kg. Up to 8 kg - 2 ml 3 times a day. From 8 to 16 kg - 4 ml three times a day. From 16 to 21 kg 5 ml three times a day; for patients weighing 21 kg and more, 6 ml three times a day. For pharyngitis and otitis media, the total daily dose can be divided every 2 hours, daily dose 40 mg/kg. Up to 8 kg 3 ml 2 times a day. From 8 to 16 kg 6 ml 2 times a day. From 16 to 21 kg 8 ml 2 times a day. For patients weighing 21 kg and more, 10 ml 2 times a day. Instructions for using the suspension: Shake the bottle well before adding water to facilitate the dissolution of the granules; add water to the level indicated by the arrow on the label; close and shake well until the suspension becomes homogeneous. The volume will drop below the level indicated by the arrow. Add water again to the level indicated by the arrow on the label. Shake well until a homogeneous suspension is obtained. If you follow these instructions, 5 ml of suspension contains 250 mg of Cefaclor. Shake the suspension well before each dose. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Cefaclor, other cephalosporins, or any other component of the preparation.
