Indications: Bellargamin is a combined medicinal product. It contains belladonna alkaloids, ergotamine, and phenobarbital as active substances. Belladonna alkaloids relieve spasms of the smooth muscles of the stomach and intestines, urinary tract, and bile ducts. They suppress secretion in many organs, which helps control conditions associated with increased gastric secretion. Ergotamine causes vasoconstriction, including cerebral blood vessels, and is used to treat vascular headaches, such as migraines. Phenobarbital reduces brain and nervous activity and has a sedative effect. Bellargamin is used for symptomatic treatment of vascular headaches (migraine), climacteric syndrome (hot flashes, anxiety, increased sweating, insomnia); for managing vegetative symptoms (anxiety, palpitations, headache, sleep disturbances, spasms), and functional disorders of the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, and genitourinary system. Contraindications: If the patient is allergic to any active or excipient of Bellargamin; if the patient is allergic to barbiturates or ergot preparations; arterial hypertension; angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, tachycardia; thrombophlebitis; porphyria; severe liver or kidney diseases; narrow-angle glaucoma; prostatic hypertrophy and other obstructive uropathies; sepsis; hyperthyroidism; lung diseases accompanied by suffocation. Bellargamin should not be taken by patients with a history of alcoholism, drug abuse, or drug addiction. Use of Bellargamin with food and drinks: Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed during treatment with Bellargamin. Alcohol may enhance some of its side effects. Caffeine-containing beverages should not be consumed. Pregnancy and lactation: If the patient is pregnant, thinks she might be pregnant, or plans to become pregnant, or is breastfeeding, she should consult a doctor before taking this medicine. Bellargamin may cause fetal damage. It is not used during pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs during Bellargamin treatment, a doctor should be consulted. The active substances of Bellargamin can pass into breast milk and may affect the breastfeeding infant. If the infant is breastfed, the doctor will discuss the treatment. They may decide to continue breastfeeding or discontinue the medication.
