What is it?

Dosage form, packaging: Composition: 1) Inhalation aerosol: 300 doses per canister. 1 dose contains 5 mcg Fenoterol hydrobromide and 20 mcg Ipratropium bromide. 2) Solution for inhalation: 20 ml per bottle. 1 ml contains 500 mcg Fenoterol hydrobromide and 250 mcg Ipratropium bromide. Manufacturer: Germany BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM INTERNATIONAL Clinical-pharmacological group: Bronchodilator. Indications: - Basic treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases; - Prevention and treatment of acute attacks of shortness of breath caused by bronchial asthma; - Chronic obstructive bronchitis with or without emphysema. - For prevention and maintenance therapy of respiratory failure in diseases with bronchoconstrictive syndrome and increased bronchial sensitivity. - Preparation of airways for the administration of medicinal products (mucolytics, corticosteroids, antibiotics) by inhalation. Dosage and administration regimen: For children over 3 years of age and adults, Berodual in the form of a metered-dose aerosol is prescribed 3 times a day, 1-2 doses each (up to 8 doses per day). In case of bronchial asthma attack, use 2 doses of aerosol, if necessary, another 2 doses after 5 minutes, the next inhalation is performed after 2 hours. The recommended therapeutic dose of the inhalation solution is 20-30 drops (1-4 ml) 3-6 times a day at intervals of at least 2 hours. When using a nebulizer, it is necessary to dilute 20 drops of the preparation in 3 ml of physiological saline and inhale for 5-7 minutes. The solution should be used completely. In children under 6 years of age, the therapeutic dose of the inhalation solution is 0.05 ml (1 drop/kg 3 times a day) and is taken under medical supervision. In children from 6 to 14 years of age, the preparation is prescribed 4 times a day in a dose of 0.5 to 1 ml (10-20 drops). In case of severe attacks, 2-3 ml (40-60 drops) can be taken under medical supervision. Side effects: The development of side effects depends on the action of fenoterol contained in the preparation: patients experience finger tremor, palpitations, tachycardia. The development of side effects is also associated with the action of ipratropium bromide contained in the preparation. In isolated cases, dry mouth is observed. Contraindications: - First trimester of pregnancy; - Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Pregnancy and lactation: The use of Berodual in the first trimester of pregnancy is contraindicated. Since fenoterol can negatively affect labor, the use of the preparation should be discontinued a few weeks before childbirth. There is no data on the need to restrict the use of the preparation during lactation. Storage conditions and shelf life: The preparation should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, in a dry place, protected from children. Shelf life - 5 years.
