What is it?
Composition: 1 vial contains 200000 IU sterile Benzathine Benzylpenicillin, 200000 IU sterile Benzylpenicillin Potassium Salt or 200000 IU sterile Benzylpenicillin Sodium Salt and 200000 IU sterile Benzylpenicillin Novocaine Salt. Dosage form: Powder for preparation of solution for injection in vials. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antibiotic of the penicillin group, sensitive to beta-lactamase action. Pharmacological properties: The spectrum of antimicrobial action of Bicilin is analogous to the spectrum of action of Benzylpenicillin. Bicilin is sensitive to Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., except penicillinase-producing strains, as well as Streptococcus spp., except S. faecalis, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium diphtheriae), as well as Gram-negative cocci (Neisseria gonorrhoae, Neisseria meningitidis), and Treponema pallidium. Most Gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa are resistant to the drug's action. Indications: Bicilin-3 kmp is used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to Benzylpenicillin, as well as when it is necessary to maintain a constant drug concentration in the blood for a long time: for the treatment of streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis, erysipelas, syphilis; as well as for the prevention of exacerbations of complicated rheumatic diseases. Method of administration and dosage: Bicilin-3 kmp is administered only intramuscularly! Intravenous administration of the drug is prohibited! The suspension is prepared under aseptic conditions immediately before use. 5-6 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or sterile water for injection, or 0.25-0.5% novocaine solution is injected into the vial containing Bicilin-3 kmp, then shaken until a homogeneous suspension is obtained, which is injected deep into the upper outer quadrant of the buttock in adults at a dose of 600000 IU every 6 days. Before administering the Bicilin-3 kmp suspension, it is necessary to ensure that the needle has not entered a blood vessel. If blood appears, the needle must be removed and the injection administered elsewhere. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to penicillin and novocaine, bronchial asthma and other allergic diseases.
