What is it?
Bidens contains flavonoids, coumarins, ascorbic acid, carotene, tannins, lactones, amines, and a large amount of manganese. Bidens is characterized by anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. It is widely used in the treatment of children with diathesis in the form of baths. Bidens is used as a mild diuretic and diaphoretic, as well as for respiratory tract diseases and as an appetite stimulant. It is sometimes used for rickets, scrofula, and liver diseases. Bidens has a mild sedative property. To prepare Bidens infusion, place 10 g (3 tablespoons) of herbs in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml (1 teacup) of boiling water over it, and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 45 minutes. Strain, and squeeze the remaining mass. Top up the resulting infusion to the initial volume with boiled water (200 ml), take 1/2-1/3 cup 2-3 times a day after meals. Bidens infusion is prepared as a diaphoretic and diuretic as follows: pour 1 teacup of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of herbs, let it steep for 10 minutes, and take 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day. If an infusion prepared in the same way is steeped for 10-12 hours in a warm place and then 1/3-1/2 cup is taken 2-3 times, it is a good blood-purifying agent. For baths, 1 teacup of infusion is taken per 10 liters of water. Generally, the infusion should be stored in a cool place for no more than two days.
