What is it?
Name - Cef-400 400mg #7caps Indications: Cef-400 is indicated for the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible microorganisms. Upper respiratory tract infections; e.g.: bacterial pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media. Lower respiratory tract infections; e.g.: bronchitis. Urinary tract infections; e.g.: acute cystitis Dosage and administration Food intake does not significantly alter the absorption of Cef-400. The usual course of treatment is 5-14 days. Adults and children over 12 years of age: The recommended dose for adults is 200-400 mg per day, taken either as a single dose or in two divided doses. For lower respiratory tract infections, 400 mg per day is recommended. For upper respiratory tract infections and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, a single daily dose of 200 mg is effective. Elderly: The same dose recommended for adults may be prescribed for elderly patients. In case of severe renal impairment, renal function should be assessed and the dose adjusted. Children: The recommended dose for children is 8 mg/kg per day, taken once or in two divided doses. This should be done for children under 2 years of age. In general, it is recommended to prescribe a pediatric oral suspension for children under 2 years of age. Children weighing more than 50 kg and over 12 years of age should be treated with the adult recommended dose. The safety and efficacy of cefixime have not been established in children under 6 months of age. Contraindications: Patients who are hypersensitive to cephalosporin antibiotics or any other component of this product.
